James Wilkinson, CEO of car finance specialists, Zuto, has been included in the illustrious Maserati 100.

The Maserati 100, in conjunction with the Sunday Times, is now in its third year, and is dedicated to celebrating the positive impact entrepreneurs have on the economy and society as a whole, and the list intends to recognise one hundred game-changing entrepreneurs who are disrupting the business world.

James is joined in the index by: Alex Chesterman from Zoopla, Giles Andrew, the founder of Zopa; former CEO of Just Eat, David Buttress and William Reeve one of the original creators of Lovefilm, along with many other leading business talents.

James’s entrepreneurial spirit was realised with an opportunity to make the car buying process a lot more transparent. He co-founded Zuto back in 2006 and took the search for car finance online. The company now employs over 350 Zutonites across two sites in Macclesfield and Manchester.

On being recognised in the Maserati 100, James said, “It’s humbling to be included alongside some outstanding entrepreneurs that I really admire. Here at Zuto we truly believe in challenging the status quo and have built a team of Zutonites who are always looking to innovate and drive change, and above all else, ask if the work they are doing truly helps the customer.”

James joined his fellow entrepreneurs at a celebration event at the News UK headquarters in London this week.

Maserati is the Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer that was founded over 100 years ago by the Maserati brothers, who were entrepreneurs, and disruptors of their time. Starting out as a motorsport works, the family acquired Diatto’s racing materials including chassis and gearboxes in 1926 to create the Tipo 26 racing car which became a firm favourite on the racing circuit.
